2017 Apr 26

Emily Leboffe was one of 50 students from Susquehanna University who recently presented research at the 31st annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research in Memphis, Tenn.

Leboffe's research, titled "The Effect of Matrix Metalloproteinase Inhibition on Intracellular Signaling in Adipogenic Differentiation of 3T3-L1 Cells," was supervised by Tom Peeler, associate professor of biology at Susquehanna.

Established in 1987, the conference is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research and scholarship done in partnership with faculty or other mentors. Students experience firsthand the processes of scholarly exploration and discovery that characterize academic life.

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research promotes undergraduate research scholarship and creative activity done in partnership with faculty or other mentors as a vital component of higher education. The annual conference has become a national celebration of undergraduate scholarly activity involving all academic disciplines and all institutions of higher education.
