Leboffe Pursues Individualized Cross-Cultural Experience

2016 Aug 30

Emily Leboffe recently spent time in Nicosia, Cyprus, for Susquehanna University's cross-cultural requirement.

Susquehanna is distinguished by its Global Opportunities (GO) program, which requires that all students spend at least two weeks off campus, immersed in a culture different from their own. The GO Your Own Way option allows students to fill this requirement through a self-designed program, or a study away, internship or service trip that is not offered through the university.

LeBoffe studied at the University of Nicosia, through their Pre-Med program, exploring the differences in healthcare between the United States and Cyprus. While in Cyprus, she was exposed to the three official languages of the country - Turkish, Greek and English - and experienced the differences in language, social behavior and food in Cyprus compared to the United States.
