Montoya Presents Research at Regional Symposium

Alvaro Montoya presented research at the sixth annual Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium on July 27. This year the symposium was held at Bloomsburg University.

Montoya's research, conducted with Associate Professor of Chemistry T. Wade Johnson and a team of other students, concerned the growth of mutant cells as electron acceptors in photosystem I of higher plants and cyanobacteria.

The symposium allows students from across central Pennsylvania to come together to share presentations on research from a variety of disciplines. The event is sponsored by Bloomsburg University, Bucknell Institute for Public Policy, Geisinger Health System and Susquehanna University.
