Motsko Receives Summer Opportunities Grant

2015 May 13

Jeremy Motsko, of Breinigsville, is one of 20 students performing internships, service projects and other experiential-learning activities this summer, thanks to support from alumni-funded grants for summer opportunities. Susquehanna University offers financial support for summer opportunities through two funds, the Gundaker Enrichment Fund and the Summers Enrichment Fund.

The Gundaker Enrichment Fund, established in 2004 by alumnus Robert G. Gundaker and his wife Isabelle, supports students' internships or significant volunteer activities. Awards from the fund are intended to provide a range of experiential-learning opportunities for students. Students are selected based on a proposal that is reviewed by a committee composed of academic deans and the dean of student life.

The Summers Enrichment Fund was established the same year by alumni James W. Summers and Barbara Evans Summers. It provides money for income-replacement stipends, transportation costs, and other expenses associated with internships and study-away experiences.
