Susquehanna, a liberal arts university, focuses on intellectual development, global competence and career success. We offer a nationally recognized study abroad program and more than 100 majors and minors in business, humanities, arts and sciences. Students develop critical thinking, writing, teamwork and communication skills which, combined with internships and research opportunities, prepare them for a lifetime of personal and professional success. Small classes enable faculty members to serve as mentors, as well as teachers. Ninety-six percent of Susquehanna students are employed or in graduate or professional school within six months of graduation.

Students Guide Tours at Susquehanna
Several students are working as student tour guides this year at Susquehanna University. To become a tour guide, students must complete a written application and personal interview with the admissions staff. Once selected, students complete an intensive training program, followed by additional training sessions throughout their time on the job.

Students Encourage University Support Through Caller Program
Several students recently helped raise funds for Susquehanna University through its student calling program. The students contact parents and alumni to encourage them to support the university by making a donation. Funds raised are used to support scholarships, laboratory equipment, research, athletics, the library and the arts, among other endeavors.

Several students are studying abroad this fall. Study away is an integral part of a Susquehanna education. Susquehanna is distinguished by its Global Opportunities (GO) program, which requires all students to spend at least two weeks off campus, immersed in a culture different from their own.

Students Return from Studies in Sweden
Several students recently studied in Sweden as part of the university's Global Opportunities (GO) program. GO Sweden allows students to study modern medicine in a land whose cultural heritage can be traced back to the Vikings. Students learn about the continuum of world health care and the dynamic relationship between culture and the delivery of health care. The trip includes travel to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden and home of the Nobel Prize, exploration of a sixteenth century castle and a medieval town, and visits to Uppsala University, one of the oldest universities in Europe, and the Swedish archipelago.

3 Susquehanna students recently attended the National Association for Teachers of Singing (NATS) Eastern Region Conference and Student Auditions. Founded in 1944, NATS is the largest professional organization of vocal teachers in the world, with more than 7,000 members in the United States, Canada, and nearly 30 other countries. The conference and auditions were held March 9-11 at West Chester University
